Shelves for the Home
Making the Most of a Yard Shed
Small homes tend to suffer the most from storage space, and are probably the most difficult to keep neat and tidy. People tend to accumulate clutter, and the less room there is to store it, the more cluttered a home might become. A small yard is a bit different, in that a tiny yard will probably require less in the way of equipment and garden tools to maintain. However, that is not to say storage is not needed at all.
A yard shed does have a place in most homes, however small they might be. The styles and materials used are usually much the same as for larger gardens. It is just that there is probably no need for something like a barn shed to store ride on mowers and other gardening paraphernalia.
If you are looking for a yard shed for a small yard, then there are plenty of choices for you. In deciding which one suits your needs, it is best to have a good look around the home, inside and outside, and see what items would benefit from an outside storage unit. Having done that, you will have a good idea of the size and shape you need for the shed.
If you have a small flower bed, some containers and a shrub or two, then garden tool storage has to be taken care of. This can be dealt with by a vertical unit, made of metal or some type of hard plastic. Such units can also house a few paint pots and decorating tools which you would prefer to keep outside. Some people prefer a horizontal yard shed for storing things on a small scale, and these are readily available.
If you really have little or no money to spend, then try looking out for a discarded metal locker as a temporary storage or shelving solution. Another cheap alternative would be one or more used kitchen units. They will help you de-clutter the home until you can afford something better to suit your needs.
